With the Cozumel carnival extravaganza looming from February 7-14 (With biggest celebrations on 10th, 11th and 13th Feb), bookings are already skyrocketing, with a noteworthy surge from our friendly neighbors up north – the Canadians.
This is the 150th Cozumel carnival so expect it to be a BIG celebration.
As 2024 unfolds, Cozumel bids adieu to a peak winter season marked by a bustling international airport, handling up to 75 weekly operations.
The credit goes to enhanced air connectivity, spearheaded by Isela Valenzuela Jiménez, the manager of the Cozumel Hotel Association (AHIC). December witnessed the revival of pandemic-halted routes and increased frequencies from U.S. and Canadian cities, courtesy of major carriers like American Airlines, Delta, Air Canada, and WestJet.
Excitingly, new routes have opened up, connecting Cozumel directly to Atlanta, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Nashville, and Raleigh.
The island’s evolution from a cruise ship hub and diving haven to a prime Mexican Caribbean destination reached its pinnacle in 2023, crowned with the coveted Magical Town designation.
